Book in Dracula's rooms...HELP PLEASE!

Ok i understand that you have to move the triangles and stuff around and click the bat thing and when the symbols and phrases glow thats space is right, my question is about the gems....I read somewhere else that you just do the same thing as the rest but if i move the gems and click the bat everything goes away and i have move all the gems back before i can get the phrases and symbols back.....what am i doing wrong..can someone please else me! Thanks!!!!!

your have to do this

white gem upperleft
black gem upper right
red gem right
blue gem bottom
green gem on left

click on the gems and then click on the light that appears and the gems move

Is there any clue in the game telling how to put gems in proper order to open Dracula's Book? There are 120 combinations so how the hell should I know the right one (without reading a walkthrough)?
